When Your Barn Burns Down: Finding the Moonlight in Mayhem

Let me tell you something no one mentioned back when I was knee-deep in real estate—well, still am, technically (once a deal-maker, always a deal-maker). But these days, my real work is coaching people through the big stuff. And here’s the truth:

Sometimes life just catches fire.
Not in a “look at me go!” kind of way.
More like a “holy crap, everything I built is in ashes” kind of way.

🔥 I’ve Had Barns Burn

Deals collapsed.
Opportunities fell through.
Confidence shaken.
Moments where I sat alone in my car after a showing, staring at the dashboard thinking:
“How the hell did I end up here?”

Maybe you know that moment too.
The one where everything feels like too much, and not enough, all at once.

But here’s the truth:
Those moments don’t break you.
They reveal you.

🌕 The Power of the Burn

There’s a Japanese quote I came across not long ago:

“My barn having burned to the ground, I can now see the moon.”
— Masahide

It hit me hard.
Because how many of us are holding on so tightly to what we’ve built—our business, our role, our version of success—that we miss what’s waiting just beyond the smoke?

The moon was always there.
We just couldn’t see it with that big ol’ barn in the way.

🧱 Why We Cling to What’s Not Working

We stay in burnout jobs.
We hang onto toxic deals and even more toxic relationships.
We keep saying “yes” to things that don’t light us up, all because we fear losing what we built.

Because we think, “I built this. I can’t let it go.”

But sometimes life—or the Universe, or Spirit, or your inner wise woman—lights a match.

And suddenly…
You’re free.
Not ruined.
Revealed.

💡 The Resilient Realignment

This week, under the full moon, I want you to ask yourself:

  • What am I grieving right now?
  • What in my life feels like it’s burning?
  • And what beauty might I finally see because of it?

It’s okay to cry.
It’s okay to scream into a pillow (I recommend a fluffy one).
But don’t forget to look up.

The moon is there.
Waiting.
Guiding.
Glowing.

Let the barn burn, love.

You’ve got a moon to dance under.

Ready to Rise?

If you’re in the ashes and ready for your rebuild, I’m here.
My passion is helping women professionals who are ready to rise above the ashes of struggle, stop merely surviving and begin thriving.

The barn is gone. The view is better. Now what will you create? DM me RESILIENCE or click the link in my bio.

Let’s look at the moon together. 🌕
