Sit down, friend.
Take a breath.
And let’s have an honest moment:
You’re successful. You’re sharp. People marvel at how you get it all done. But somewhere between the back-to-back Zooms, the listing appointments, the soccer carpools, the “quick dinners” you inhaled over the sink, and that email you answered at 11:47 pm (don’t pretend you didn’t)…
You’ve lost sight of YOU.
And listen—I get it. Life moves fast. Especially when you’re a high-powered woman with a calendar that looks like it needs its own calendar.
But here’s the truth:
You were made for more than just managing fires, collecting achievements, and being everyone else’s superhero.
You were made for fulfillment.
For meaning.
For a life you wake up excited to live—not one you simply muscle your way through because you’re “strong.”
So today, I’m handing you a flashlight and a roadmap.
Not the cute little pocket flashlight…
I mean the Costco-sized industrial spotlight.
Because we’re digging deep.
Here are the 10 purpose-uncovering questions every powerful woman needs to ask herself—especially if she’s been running on autopilot for far too long.
1. What Would I Love?
Not “What’s practical?”
Not “What keeps everyone else happy?”
Not “What fits neatly between my 2:00 and 2:15?”
What. Would. I. LOVE?
If anything were possible…
If nobody judged…
If time, money, fear, and responsibilities all took a coffee break…
What lights you up?
This question bypasses logic and taps straight into your heart’s GPS.
Write it down uncensored. You can organize it later. For now, dream big—your soul’s been waiting.
2. What Are My Gifts and Strengths?
Here’s the deal:
Women are notorious for downplaying their brilliance.
You: “Oh, it’s nothing. I just… ran a team, built a business, raised humans, saved three deals that were dead on arrival, and mediated a family argument in the Target aisle. Anyone could do it.”
No. Not “anyone.” YOU.
Your strengths point directly toward your purpose.
Ask yourself:
- What comes naturally to me?
- What do people constantly thank me for?
- What feels easy for me that’s hard for others?
Spoiler: Your purpose will ALWAYS build on your natural gifts—never on your insecurities.
3. What Matters Most to Me?
If your core values were a compass, where would they point?
Success is great, but meaning comes from alignment.
Identify your top three values—connection, creativity, freedom, family, integrity, adventure, contribution…
Then ask:
Is my current life aligned with these—or am I just surviving on caffeine and willpower?
If you have to squint to find your values in your calendar…
We’ve got work to do.
4. What Are My Core Non-Negotiables?
Every woman needs non-negotiables—or life will negotiate them for you.
Maybe it’s rest.
Maybe it’s boundaries.
Maybe it’s meaningful work instead of “obligations.”
Ask:
What am I no longer willing to sacrifice?
Because your purpose will ALWAYS honor your non-negotiables.
If it doesn’t, it’s not your purpose… it’s a trap.
5. What Have My Failures Been Preparing Me For?
You know those moments you wish you could erase?
The setbacks…
The heartbreaks…
The flops…
The career plot twists that made you question your entire life?
Yeah.
Those weren’t failures. Those were training modules.
Every single one shaped your resilience, compassion, wisdom, and grit.
So ask yourself: “What skill, insight, or strength did that setback give me? How could that be part of my purpose?“
Nothing was wasted.
Not even the messy parts.
6. What Do I Lose Track of Time Doing?
Your purpose leaves clues—big ones. When you’re in your zone, hours feel like minutes.
This is called flow.
Real examples:
- Coaching a colleague who’s burned out
- Designing something beautifully functional
- Leading a team with heart and clarity
- Writing, speaking, teaching, mentoring
- Organizing chaos into order (yes, that’s a gift!)
If you naturally sink into joy, focus, or service in an area…Your purpose is winking at you from across the room.
7. What Am I Tired of Pretending Doesn’t Matter?
This is where the truth hits.
What have you been minimizing?
What dream keeps tapping on your shoulder, whispering,
“Hey… remember me?”
Your soul never lies.
It just waits for you to stop ignoring it.
8. Who Do I Feel Most Alive Helping?
Purpose is always connected to service.
Not “martyrdom” service—soul service.
When you help certain people, something clicks.
You feel lit up.
Expanded.
Useful in the best way.
That’s purpose knocking.
9. If 85-Year-Old Me Were Giving Advice… What Would She Say?
Picture her.
Wise. Unbothered. Fabulous.
Absolutely done with nonsense.
She would tell you the truth. She’d say:
- “Stop waiting.”
- “Stop shrinking.”
- “Go for the thing your heart has been begging for.”
- “Forget the approval committee. They’re busy anyway.”
Let her voice guide you.
10. Am I Living by Design… or by Default?
Most people run the same year on repeat and call it a “life.”
You deserve better.
And deep down, you know it.
Ask:
Am I designing my life—or reacting to it? Does my day reflect my purpose—or just my obligations?
If the honest answer makes you sigh…Good.
Awareness is the door to change.
Action Step: Take One Small Move Today
Purpose is discovered through movement, not overthinking.
Pick ONE insight from the questions above and take a baby step:
- Journal for 10 minutes
- Schedule 15 minutes for quiet reflection
- Say “no” to something that drains you
- Say “yes” to something that lights you up
- Sign up for something that shifts your perspective
